This is a review of the PIONEER CAMP branded Men’s Grid Fleece 1/4 Zip Pullover Jacket. The description of “Thermal Sweatshirt” is the right idea. The Grid in the name refers to the blocks of fleece on the inside (please see photo). Material is 100% Spandex, aka Lycra a synthetic fabric made of polyether-polyurea copolymer. Surprisingly it is manufactured with two surfaces. Smooth weave fabric on outside. Raised nap fleece on inside. While it is indeed very lightweight, the raised nap of the fabric helps hold in body warmth despite the lightness. Can call this a technical fabric designed for warmth.

Best for wear on top of a thermal underwear as a second base layer. Reason: some people may become sensitized to Spandex/Lycra if repeatedly directly on surface of skin. This added thermal layer with lightweight is great for walking miles in the cold, working in an unheated site/garage, or shoveling snow. May start to be too warm after a while if exercising. However, warm has better options than bone cold. If held to light, there are micro spaces that show how it wicks away moisture. Warm is good. Soggy is not! Interesting thought out design that helps alleviate the complaint people have with less sophisticatedly made Spandex.

Made with a left chest vertically zippered chest pocket: I did not want two colors if the thermal sweatshirt worn is worn as a top, so obtained the black. However, Green Blue also looks nice

This is a very nice pullover fleece. It is well made, good looking, fantastic chest zip pocket, but runs a bit small. I followed the size chart, however, I am recommending ordering one size up. Surprisingly warm, and lightweight, the medium I ordered just fits a bit snug.

Price is fair, reasonable at $46, but not the more inexpensive pullover you'll find. Quality is there, ascetics are there, looks good and stylish, and pleasantly surprised.

Again, in terms of sizing, this pullover fits on the slim side. and I strongly suggest moving up one size.

Love the 1/4 zip, the Pioneer Camp logo, and the Zipper Chest Pocket!

It’s very soft, sleek and stylish, and I love the color (I have the teal shade). The fabric and zippers are both really great quality. This pullover is warm without being heavy or thick (the outer material is slick athletic material and the inside is super soft fleece). I like that combo and the thinness because it helps keep me from getting sweaty if I get too hot while being active (and then catching a chill). I wear this with just a t-shirt under on fall days and then this makes a great base layer under a jacket or vest on cold winter days. It also fits very nicely, TTS and long enough in the body and the sleeves (I’m 5’11”). I definitely recommend this 1/4 zip.
