Description

Engineered for high-output adventures, these technical men's hiking pants combine advanced mobility with intelligent climate control. The quick-dry, breathable fabric features a DWR finish to repel light rain and splashes, while a micro-dot inner lining prevents the fabric from sticking to skin, ensuring all-day dryness and comfort. Laser-cut perforations behind the knees actively increase airflow during long, sweaty treks.
Built for unrestricted movement, the pants utilize motion-friendly 3D tailoring that expands room at the seat and knees, complemented by a gusseted stretch-fabric crotch for total freedom during high steps or climbs. Constructed from durable 70D high-density nylon with a 4-way stretch, they offer exceptional abrasion resistance and flexibility. Seamless heat-bonded construction at the waist, pockets, fly, and cuffs creates a smoother, chafe-free fit. With a smooth YKK front zip, lightweight zippered pockets, and adjustable ankle drawcords for versatile cuff styling, these pants are ready for rock climbing, trekking, camping, and everyday wear.

Tight fit, rough texture, not cargo pants

Typically I'm a big fan of the pioneer camp brand, but I think they may have missed the mark on these pants.

For starters, these are advertised as cargo pants when they are certainly not that. These have two pockets which zipper, which I appreciate, however when I think cargo pants I think multiple pockets especially down the legs. The pockets that are on these pants are very deep, I'm able to put my whole hand in and spread my fingers out, and still have room to spare so I do appreciate that. On the flip side, that also means my phone or wallet is flopping around a lot inside of the pocket. I would encourage the manufacturer to clarify this point in the item description and title.

As for fit, I am 6 ft tall and about 180 lb, so I ordered a size large. They fit well in the length, however the waist is definitely snug. I typically wear a size 34 pant in the waist, which I definitely thought a large would fit however it is still snug. Not suffocating, but definitely tight.

The material is made of nylon, however it is very rough and not terribly comfortable while wearing. It has a "durable water reppelency" coating applied that is supposed to make it great for rain or snowy conditions, but I have not been able to test this feature yet. I do think they will be good overall for when I go on hikes, and they will be a staple in my travel bag, but probably not the primary pants I'm going to reach for on a regular day.

They are lightweight overall and hold up well on the wash.…

    Good pants, a Little Tight

These pants are as described. However, the fit is a little tight, and therefore, feel ever so slightly stiff. They do look great!

I am 6 feet tall with about a 36-inch waist and 32-inch inseam. The large size was a bit snug, but not suffocating. My personal preference is looser fitting pants, for all my pants. So what I feel is a little tight, might be the perfect feeling fit for others. The length was great for me!

I feel the fabric is a little stiffer and less breathable than advertised. The pants are not that stretchy. The pants are medium weight. They are appropriate for hiking in cool temperatures , I’d say 60 degrees or less. I did not test in wet or rainy conditions. I‘ve had no problems with the zipper or thinning fabric after multiple wears and washes. Material are good quality.

The asking price seems a little steep for the product, but I think they would provide a good value on sale.

    Spandex saves the day!

Well, I guess I have gone up a couple of waist sizes since the last time I ordered pants. Spandex saves the day! These pants have great stretchability and still fit snug enough that they won't slip off.

The blend of nylon and spandex makes these pants flexible and at the same time durable for any outdoor activity.

The legs were slightly long on me, but there are cords (see picture) at the ankle of the pants and I can pull them up to a comfortable height and tighten the cords.

I am impressed with the reinforcement of the pocket zippers with protection from water and peace of mind that your pocket content is safe. (see picture)

I recommend these pants for any outdoor enthusiast or anyone looking for a comfortable pair of stretchy pants!

High quality hiking pants for men featuring significant abrasion and water resistance

High quality hiking pants from the legendary Pioneer Camp! These are the men’s version of the woman’s pant I’ve been obsessed with, and they didn’t scrimp on features for these pants either! They also feature adjustable ties at the waist, and high quality zipper pockets throughout. The material is extremely abrasion resistant making them a great choice for snow sports, hiking, spelunking, or mountaineering. The size chart was difficult to interpret and I do feel like they run a bit small, but I’m hoping that they will stretch out a bit over time, even though the fabric is substantial and minimally stretchy. This is a M and they definitely fit like an American S. They’re a great length, and the tapered leg is very stylish. I might re-purchase up one size so my boyfriend doesn’t worry about the fly popping open 🤣 The material feels water resistant as well.

Lightweight and Functional, But Not Very Structured

These pants are super lightweight and breathable, which makes them great for warmer weather or travel. The quick-dry material really does dry fast, and the water resistance holds up well during light rain or splashes. My husband wore them on a few casual hikes and said they were comfortable and moved easily with him.

The blue color is nice, but the overall structure is on the softer side. They’re more relaxed than fitted, so don’t expect a sharp or tailored look. The cargo pockets are handy without being bulky, and the waistband has enough give for all-day wear.

Good choice for travel or outdoor errands, especially if comfort and practicality matter more than a crisp fit.
