3L Technology
A 3L fabric is essentially a high-performance "sandwich" made of:
- Outer Face Fabric: A durable, abrasion-resistant material (like nylon or polyester) treated with a water-repellent coating to shed rain and snow.
- Waterproof/Breathable Membrane: A microscopic film (such as Gore-Tex, eVent, or Pertex) sandwiched in the middle that prevents water from getting in while allowing sweat to escape.
