I've tried a few pairs of Pioneer Camp's hiking shorts and these are my favorite so far.

The fit for me was perfect: I'm 6', 175 lbs with a 34" waist and the large was right on. Be sure to order based on the size chart in the listing.

The fabric is quite nice. It's 96% nylon / 4% spandex, so it's stretchy and breathable. But even better is the weight - it's got a little heft to it so you don't feel like a casual scrape against a rock or tree is going to tear a hole in it. Durability should be good over time.

There are two zippered side pockets which function well and keep everything in. Unfortunately there's no rear pocket, which would be my only negative with this product. Ultimately that's a minor complaint though.

Overall these are great shorts for almost any outdoor activity. Highly recommended.

Nice material, that is lightweight and airy. Comfortable to move in. Lanyard pulls on the two pockets make it easy to use them.

Great for active people. A little undersized for me, but that is on me for sizing errors. At 6 ft and size 12-14 in women's, I needed an extra large.

Finding a good pair of shorts can be challenging, especially when they're intended for the outdoors. The material can be too thin and rip when something is rubbed against it, or too thick and uncomfortable. These shorts are perfect because they're thin enough to be lightweight when you need it, but offer resistance to inclement weather.

If I had to give these any negative feedback, it would be the pocket zippers. I definitely have a love/hate relationship with them. While I appreciate the added security of having the zippers there to keep you from losing any valuables that might fall out, they can be a bit challenging to zip or unzip while wearing them. That said, this is something that usually gets easier with time, so you'll have to wear them a few times before that process becomes smooth.

But that aside, these a GREAT shorts. I was worried that they might be too short or not actually fit, but these worked out just fine. Plenty of pocket space, stretchy material and water resistance are all reasons why you'd enjoy these. Whether around the block, or up a mountain these shorts will hold you down.

This is a nice good looking pair of hiking shorts. They are comfortable and made of a stretchy fabric. They have a 9 inch inseam. They are about 20 inches tall. They have a logo sewn on the front. There is a small cord loop sewn at the belt line in the back. The front pockets have a breathable liner. They have no rear pockets! I want 2! This is a reasonable vale for the price.
