Honestly, you can't go wrong with these. Solid performers!

This is an honest, unbiased review for the Pioneer Camp Men's Hiking Cargo Pants...

Being an outdoor photographer, and avid hiker, I pretty much live in cargo style hiking pants for both work and play. I need extra room for movement as well as holding camera batteries, camera lens caps, lens wipes, power bricks, etc. These pants are about as perfect as i would design myself. I know Pioneer Camp as a solid brand with consistent quality. I have a few pieces of their outdoor clothing and they have all become some of my favorite as they are always comfortable, no nonsense designs, and deliver excellent performance. These cargo pants are no exception as they check all the boxes for me in construction quality, fit, performance, and general fashion design.

Construction quality is top notch, never any loose threads or seams. solid buttons, belt loops, and high end zippers really testify to their quality. The pockets are nice and deep, certainly enough for any phone, small hat/gloves, etc.

Fit is perfect for me in a Large and for reference I'm 5'8"/185lbs, medium build. I love the stretch built in to these as they allow great high stepping, climbing, and hiking freedom. I think it also gives the pants more durability because branches will stretch the fabric instead of just penetrate it so easily. Ankles are zippered for pulling over boots which is a must for muddy day hikes and snow.

They shed water pretty well, while not being fully waterproof. They are indeed water resistant…

    Light Weight

These are very comfortable cargo pants. They have plenty of pockets, all with zippers to secure anything.

I wore them all day. The temp in was between 50 and 60 and windy. These were comfortable outside and I didn't feel any wind chill through them.

I wear a 34x34 and the large fits perfect. The material feels really nice and cool. The construction is well made and good quality. It also flexes with movement.

    Very Nice lightweight pants.

    Sturdy, comfortable pants

I ordered these totally on impulse, but turns out it was a great find!

The material is very sturdy, and definitely lives up to the promise of being well suited for outdoor use. Even still, it’s pretty comfortable and easy to move around in. Sizing was pretty consistent as well, and should run about the same size you normally get.

It might be important to note that they’re marked as being hand wash only, which could be an issue for those planning to wear them for outside use if they become very dirty. I could imagine that could cause some extra work to clean them, so definitely worth keeping in mind.

Pockets were nice and spacious as well, with little covers to help keep them shut. Not too much more to talk about in that department, but always a great feature to have!

Overall: I think this was a great pick up! I highly recommend for active use, but I think they would be well suited to everyday use as well.

A Nice, Lightweight Pair of Cargo Pants With Very Good Features

I don’t do much hiking nowadays, but I do like to use a somewhat rugged pair of trousers for general wear around the house and while out running errands. I thought this pair of cargo pants would be worth a try.

These pants were only available in black and in sizes small, medium, large, x-large, and xx-large when I ordered them. I ordinarily buy pants with a 34-inch waist and 29-inch inseam, and I decided to choose medium for the size. That turned out to be a good decision, because the pants fit well, though they are slightly long, which I expected, given my short leg length.

The pants have a stretch elastic waist, which is good for achieving a comfortable fit. They have two large cargo-style pockets on the two legs, with flaps that snap closed. They also have two side pockets that close with zippers.

In addition, each leg has a zipper that zips up almost to the knee, which provides a way to increase airflow and to make it easy to pull the pants on, even if you already are wearing hiking boots.

The pants are made of a lightweight fabric labeled as DWR, for durable water repellent. This material is said to repel light rain and help keep you dry. I have not worn the pants in the rain, but the fabric does feel light and feels as if it would be somewhat water-resistant.

These pants will be a permanent addition to my closet.
