This hat is very lightweight. It is thin enough to keep it light and allow for easy packing, but it still keeps its form when in use. I was able to fold it up for when I wanted to pack it around, but once I pulled it out I had no problem with it. The hat is a little big, but it has a drawstring to easily make it the perfect fit for nearly any size head.

The mesh on the hat is also nice - it allows for breathability while being thick enough to keep the sun off of you. The buttons to keep the sides up are strong, which can take a tiny bit of work to get attached but stay on strong.

This is a great hat. Its got vents on the side to keep you cool. The sides button up on the sides which makes the hat even more versatile. The size runs a little small so order on the larger side. The material is good quality and the stitching and seams are nicely put together.

Its color resists fading. Really good, decent quality sun hat. I highly recommend it for your next adventure in the sun.

I live in the south and as such we get a lot of sun! Boonie hats really help with keeping shade on your face/head and help you keep from getting sun burnt. This particular hat does the job. The biggest problem I have with hats is that my head is small. A lot of hats don't even come in size Small, but this one does. But it gets better! Most hats like this are you get hat whatever size it is, and then you have a chin strap to help hold in place because no matter what size hat you need and get, it might not be the snuggest fit as everyone's heads are different sizes. This particular hat has a cinch around the headband and so once you put it on you can cinch it to make it a perfect fit for your head. I really don't like chin straps, but if it gets windy with a wide brimmed hat you kind of have no choice. With the headband cinch that is built into this hat, you can snug it up and still don't have to worry about using a chin strap unless the wind gets really bad.

The sides of this hat also fold up on the side more like a cowboy hat. There is a button snap on the each side of the hat there the sides pull up and snap in to.

Overall I think it is a pretty decent fishing/hiking/just general working outside hat to keep the sun off.

This Pioneer Camp sun bucket hat is nicely constructed and lives up to the manufacturer'e claims: it's lightweight, breathable, and protective. When I placed my order, it was only available in size small or medium. Normally I wear a large, but the medium worked perfectly.

The gray color was nice but the mesh on the back was a different color that didn't coordinate all that well. I wasn't a fan. When the brim is is down (you can snap it up on both sides), it's wide enough to shade your neck and face from the sun, but it's pretty floppy and doesn't hold it's shape. For me this was not a great look, but style is obviously a matter of personal taste. If you're looking for a good quality fishing/hiking hat, this may be for you.
